I love mantles, but a round fireplace has me stumped on how to make one. Any ideas?
Always decorate in odd numbers. I love a nice mirror over the mantel. Maybe add some candles and/or plants (real or fake.) You can update it each season to freshen it up.
There are a couple of ways to go with this... you could keep it simple --- and draw attention to the one or two thoughtfully chosen items (my choice... see photo.)
However, you can decorate according to the season... using pine branches in winter, warm colored leaves in the autumn, etc. Then nestle in items of the season... Christmas ornaments, maybe some pumpkins... just have seasonal fun!
It depends on the theme of your home (farmhouse, mcm, traditional, contemporary, zen, etc). Agree with Megan Reid. Perhaps a clock, depending on your space, height, and style. Draping garland is an easy way to transition your seasons.
I love to go online and look at pics. Lots of magazines have great ideas, even old ones. I change mine about four times a year. I also feel it's just a personal choice. What you like may not appeal to others but you live with it!
