We replaced our old marble mantel & now I would like to repurpose it. The piece measures 8" x 1 1/4" x 6'. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

if you have a large window you could put it under the window for many window décor options for the seasons... use outdoors on the deck railing as small counter when entertaining friends and family for any area for drinks plates, etc,

Depending on the look of your kitchen (or dining room), it might make a cool-looking and unique table runner or an island cutting board. Technically, we're not supposed to cut on sealed stone because cutting breaks the seal and allows spills to stain and bacteria to harbor, but the actual cutting would be optional.

Or hang/prop it up in a common area and use it as a white board with dry-erase markers for communicating messages or favorite quotes to family members and/or visitors!

Marble is porous so you will need to be careful what you put on it. May be best to apply a good polish before you use it. I think it would make a nice table top on a sofa table perhaps. Or a buffet top on a simple piece to jazz it up and make a nice upgrade. It can be cut by professional, of course. Maybe if you have and end table that is in need of a new top? Marble on furniture is huge upscale on a piece....I could go on...sorry!

I heard A lot of bakers like to roll their dough on marble, maybe cut A piece off for baking station. As for sealing it,, or if you have to for that purpose, I don`t know.

Use as is as a shelf or use to hold Tealight candles or small vases of flowers as a table runner. Have it cut for you to make Plinths for ornaments or to display photo's.
