How to keep animals out of trash, there are crows that keep ripping open our garbage which in turn attracts more animals. All advice is appreciated!
Celeste, you need to "dead head" them. When the blossoms die take them off. You can also pinch back some of the greenery and that will help them bush out. Good luck.
Celeste, cut back (by 1/4 or 1/2) just some of the branches scattered evenly throughout the plant. Those branches will regenerate and re-bloom, and then you can cut back the remaining branches two weeks later. Keep up this cycle throughout the season.
Hello. I trim mine once they start getting spindly. It helps promote growth to the base of the plant. I also fertilize them once a week.
Keep them watered especially in the heat, pluck off the old blooms when they start to wilt. I love petunias too and find these two help.
Hi Celeste, Pinch back to a side shoot if there is already more than one branch from the root. If there is only one growing stem, pinch back a few inches from the ground, leaving necessary leaves to feed the new growth...then feed it with a fertilizer for blooms. It should then form other branches and produce a mound of flowers rather than on long stem.
