Suggestion on best hanging house plant that doesn't need much attention
Peonies always look their best in the spring and when blooming. The white grey spots are powdery mildew and is caused by not enough airflow around the plant. It will not kill the plant. If you have foliage around your peonies you might consider trimming them back. In my garden, when my peonies start to look real bad (end of August beginning of Sept) I just cut them off. It gives me a head start on my fall clean up. Good luck with your peonies. BTW check out Martha Stewart's peonies. Peony envy.
Yep, Janet, it's okay to just cut then down. I have one peony that gets some type of fungus about this time of year and I just cut it down. It returns and produces beautiful blooms the next spring. Most of my other peonies still look okay. Good luck and happy gardening!
