How to know if we need to replace UV light ?
Have a UV light connected to our water softener. .we have a well for water. .the new system has a light and counter on it .she said we should replace light bulb once a year. .we have twenty five days then the year will be up .do we really need to replace if the bulb is still working ? The old system we waited until the bulb went out. .the old system bulb would last sometimes two years. .these UV bulbs cost about one hundred a piece. . Does anyone have a similar system. ?

I have the same system and I also have a similar system in my HVAC system. I replace mine every year. Most are rated at 10,000 hours because the degradation has reached a point where they are no longer effective. They still work, but are far less effective.
I'd say do some online searches. I see Germicidal UV bulbs listed at Home Depot Different wattage, different prices Many are under 500 for pack. Most in 25 piece packs. All are CFL.
