How to "tile" a basement concrete floor with vinyl placemats?
I want to use vinyl placemats that look like tile to cover my ugly concrete basement floor. I don't know what I should use to adhere the placemats to the floor....or what I should you as a "sealant" on top.

You need a plywood sub floor first
Don't need a subfloor! Use tile mastic to adhere the placemats. Use a fine tooth trowel to spread the mastic on the concrete floor. Wipe off any squeeze out with a damp cloth. Since the placemats are vinyl no need to seal.
Make sure the floor is INCREDIBLY CLEAN first. And then a tile mastic should work as William suggested. Good luck!
Placemats, not floormats, right?
Before you spend all that time, put a couple of those vinyl placemats on the floor & walk in them every day, vacuum them, scrub off shoe scuffs & see if you think they’re durable enough for a floor.
