How do I wash down a sanded door.?
I've stripped and sanded a very old door back to bare wood. I've brush the door down however there is still a lot of dust. I'm worried water and a rag willopen the grain of door? Any ideas or am I worrying to much. Thank you for your suggestions. Paul

Use a vacuum attachement and damp rag. If you are planning to paint it just wait a couple days after to make sure it is totally dry
Tack cloth.

Just dampen a rag and wipe down. The grain will raise again once you prime it, so you will have to do another light sanding anyway. Remember to use only oil based primer on the raw door for best protection. If you are finishing it natural or stain, use a sanding sealer first. Also requires light sanding. If one side is for exterior make sure you use the correct top coats. Very different from interior door.
Hi! I dampen a microfiber cloth, well wrung out, and a barely damp magic sponge. Very effective for removing sawdust, and your grain shouldn't be a problem. You could use a tack cloth, but, I don't like the way they smell.
Do you have a shop vac or someone you could borrow it from? That would keep the dust from getting back into the air. Good luck.
