Can you just take down the ship lap and turn it over?
Try Acetone, the kind you buy at the hardware store, not nail polish remover. Make sure the room is vented when doing this.
I had a similar problem from using double sided carpet tape, and like you, I tried everything to remove the glue residue, nothing seemed to work. It just so happened I was cleaning something off my big rug with good old "409" carpet cleaner. That stuff took off All the glue, just wiping!! It had been on there quite awhile, (the glue residue). Maybe just luck or??? I don't know, but definitely worth a shot!!😯 Good Luck! Nana
I'd recommend acetone or mineral spirits
