doing their business around my walk-in garage door (in the dirt and on the cement) and they also will do it on the cement floor in one part of the garage if they get in. Any ideas and deterents

At this point they are set in their ways. You can try litter box training but I am doubtful they take to it. You can try red pepper flakes, cotton balls with peppermint oil. There are sprays at the pet store that you might try too.

I had this problem with the stray cats in my neighborhood. After trying several things that didn't work I bought a motion detector sprinkler (https://amzn.to/2CXyNLe), it kept them away without hurting them!
I have seen people place tin foil or packing tape sticky side up on things they want to keep cats off of. Good luck!
