What should I do with my dahlia tubers that are in pots?
I ran out of time this year in planting my new dahlia bulbs, and ended up putting several of them in pots (and some I never planted). I am wondering if they can stay in the pots through the winter (in a protected, covered area), or if I should dig them up, wash & dry them, and store them in a box with cedar chips?

Here are some good instructions: https://www.wikihow.com/Store-Dahlia-Bulbs
You could do either of these processes. Or you could take the unopened bulbs and wrap them in newspaper. Then store the bulbs in a cool dry place like the bottom drawer of a fridge. It’s wirth a try, and you may have something to post in Hometalk! Take some photos now and more in the spring. ☺️
Hello. I would dig them up. The soil may be too heavy and damp. I store mine in a paper bag with peat moss and put them in the basement. Good Luck!
Thanks for your input everyone!
