Looks like a wasp or hornet to me, but I am no expert.
Hi Annette, I agree with Jeanette, Wasp or Hornet.
Ok thanks! Baffled me because it’s black and white.
Was bitten by one and it’s a bald faced hornet. Aggressive if they feel you are by their nest!
It's a Hornet, not a Bee.
It is a bald faced Hornet !!!!! copy link and read about it .

For sure and you don't want to mess with them >>> their aggressively defensive nature makes them a threat to humans who wander too close to a nest or when a nest is constructed too close to human habitation. They vigorously defend the nest, with workers stinging repeatedly, as is common among social bees and wasps. However, the baldfaced hornet has a unique defense in that it can squirt or spray venom from the stinger into the eyes of vertebrate nest intruders. The venom causes immediate watering of the eyes and temporary blindness. [6]
Their sting hurts like hell.
Looks like a mason 🐝 to m
Do we see a lot of them in wisconsin
Please watch these Hornets. I live in New Jersey and used to live in Missouri. These Hornets will make a neat any where. Ground, dead trees, live trees, hay, alfalfa bales, exterior walls of a shelter. Now weird fact. My one friend had a nest in the out wall of her home. It was an unused part of the yard. She did call an exterminator. While waiting her son wanted a king snake. So they went and bought one. With in 3 days of purchasing this snake. Btw his name is king arthur. Those bees moved out. We think it may have been the snakes natural scent. She confirmed this with the exterminator. Some snakes are a natural repellant for different species of insects and mammals. King could have been the type of snake that bees and Hornets do not want to be around. Forward 17 years. We had a nest of honey bees in our outer wall where my kitchen is located at my old my old house. I will not kill honey bees. We need them. They go extinct and every mammal and plant on earth will meet the same end. Any way I bought him a red corn snake. Her name is mo mo. They bees moved. I didnt think about it at the time. Until I talked to my friend. Also if your area allows it and your neighbors dont have a problem with it. Pecking ducks are great. Just fence in your garden. Flowers food ect. They eat every thing. Any way because of their appetite for living beings. I had no spiders mosquitoes flies ticks and fleas In my yard at all the whole spring summer and fall. Fleas that get on your animals. I didnt have ro buy one can of deep woods or off. Those ducks ate the spider webs off the house. My neighbors as well loved it. Our children had no ticks nor did our animals. Just make sure you can lock them up at night whether in a coup or your mud room. I purchased a small baby pop to for the ducks. We had 2 female 2 Male. The females are loud and will let you know when some thing us in your yard. We happened to have a bear. Who went into their pool and took a nap in the sun. I have pics some where of this. My roti wand ducks were very unhappy with the bear. My roti was very good with the ducks. He even helped my cat clean her babies when they were born born and kitten sat so she could go eat or potty. It was the funniest thing. Kade would not leave her babies unless i or my dog was near there babies. He has since passed of cancer
Jade is still going strong. 2 ducks moved up the street to my old neighbors house. He has ducks and chickens. The 2 males were killed by a vob cat one winter. When I get settled into another country home i will purchase ducks again. Sorry this is so long. It was the whole bug thing that got me started. So if any one is not afraid of snakes and have issues with bee nests in or on the home try a snake. If you have kids some times the chemicals used to kill a nest if it cant be moved is not good to be near or touch or even in the ground near veggie graden
Its natures way of keeping a balance. Maybe a friend has a snake to borrow for a week. If purchasing one us bot on the table.
