Vinegar and salt works....be careful that you don’t spray on flowers you want to keep as it will kill them. Boiling water also works!
Hi Dee,
The greatest way is to use vinegar, salt & Dawn. For 1 gallon of white vinegar use about 1 cup of regular salt, then add about a tablespoon of Dawn. The Dawn help the mixture stick to the weeds. Put it in a spray bottle and spray on the weeds between the pavers. The only thing that I want to warn you about is that you shouldn't use this mixture in a garden or on your lawn. The salt kills the soil underneath so it inhibits future growth of grass or garden plants. I hope this helps. Wishing you the best.
Hi again Dee,
I just remembered that boiling water also works to kill plants between pavers. The vinegar, salt, & Dawn mixture should last longer but you can certainly try pouring on boiling water for pretty much instant results.
My go tos are: boiling water. Epsom salt followed by boiling water. Vinegar.
Be very careful with salt as it will kill anything around it and leave areas barren. I've personally never had any luck with homemade weed killers; I end up pulling them making sure I get the roots.
straight white vinegar & pure lemon juice (salt only if you are doing gravel, drive ways or sidewalks) mix 1 gal.each in 2 gallon spray use in heat of day direct sun. soak the plants so it gets down into root system. Using Round up if you follow safety instructs is just as safe as using pesticides directly on your pets(heartworm meds, flea, tick & mosquito protections) these are all chemical pesticides made by the same big name companies such as Monsanto.
Hi Dee - This is the most effective all-natural weed killer DIY that we use. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
