Yes you can! Make sure you wash them out thoroughly with some dish soap, warm water and a scrub brush, then rinse well. I would use new potting soil to make sure there are no diseases lurking in the old soil.

Yes, you will need to wash and disinfect the pot. You can use a bleach/water solution and a stiff scrub brush. Be very careful - using gloves and protective eye gear as you scrub. Rinse and allow the pots to thoroughly dry before adding potting soil and plant.
