    Hi Anita,

What a terrific post by Naomie!

What I do with my also limited space was either roll them tightly, as you would do with packing up clothes for a place in the suitcase, or fold them in 1/3rds or 1/4's from side to side (narrow ends) and then lap them over lengthwise (no formal folds)-kind of like a fan-they open easily.

    Best to you.

Hi, Anita, the trick is to know the width, depth, and height of each shelf.

Next, measure your towels, washcloths, handtowels.

If you lay your towel flat, fold in each long side until it's the width you've allowed for bath towels. Now, fold up the bottom of the towel, by 10-12 inches, then fold the top down, and fold in half, again.

My shelves are very shallow, yet I'm able to vertically place 6 larger bath towels on the shelf, alternating each towel from top to bottom.

Hand towels are folded and stacked the same way.

Wash cloths are then folded in 1/2, lengthwise, then in half again, from the bottom.

All this fits on a 24" wide by 14" tall by 11" deep shelf.

Hope this is of some assistance.
