How can I make my bedroom more interesting?

get rid of the headboard, put box spring and mattress on the floor (Or pallets and you could use the open space for storage) with lots of pillows. Hang some tapestry on the window wall and add small lights, go boho! hang a (chandelier) light in the corner

I would hang draperies, all the way at the top of the wall, across the entire headboard wall. Covering the window and whole wall. I would keep the headboard, but paint it black. Then get 2 narrow but lovely bedside tables with matching lamps on each. Finish it with some pretty pillows on the bed that would coordinate with the draperies.

That's barely a bedroom, more like a closet. I certainly couldn't sleep in there. Can you get a smaller bed?

I would install drapes from ceiling to floor.

Center bed under window.

Install floating shelves and use wall mounted lighting.

Add art to walls and find a snazzy duvet or comforter to give it some life.

I would put a curtain over your window. Then depending on your likes, I would paint the headboard white or black or whatever color goes with your room. On one side I would put a floor lamp. Or look for a narrow chair side table to see if that will fit by your bed....I have one in my living room and have a lamp on it. Or look for a plant stand, the right height for a bedside table....I have seen them in wood or even wrought iron might work....just big enough to sit your book, glass, or alarm clock. Your green bedding is pretty....get some pillows to match and you will be set.

To widen the appearance of the room, you could hang a curtain across the wall but no wider than the headboard (or bed). A nice pattern but not too flashy would be a good choice. Choose a color that you like and then accent your bed with a throw pillow or two in the same color. Add some life by putting a small plant stand on the left side and top it with a philodendron or something you like. Floating shelves decorated with things that make you smile (including photos) would be nice, too, if they aren't so low or wide that you hit them when moving about. Some lovely prints, posters or even signs would also be fun. And one more thing, a floor lamp by your bedside that has an extra light on the pole that you can aim so you can read in bed. Feel better first. Then get to DIYing!

A smaller bed would make the space look and feel bigger. More lighting would make it brighter, wall sconces? Neutrals would make it airy and restful. I'd add shelving on either side of the window to give you storage and add decor style to the room.

There are little side tables that hook under the mattress. They are only a few inches wide. I would put in at least one of those. I would keep your headboard, but soften the contrast with a favorite color for the wall behind it. Choose a soft warm color to promote relaxation, then choose a contrast off white for the other 3 walls. Bring in the accent wall color with a couple of decorative pillows or shams on the bed.

To balance the small window, flank the window with pretty pictures on either side of the window or light sconces if you prefer light instead of artwork

I would cut off the tall end pieces on the headboard. Use a bit of stain on a cloth to touch up the cut surface.

Hang a curtain rod so it is just barely below the top of the window frame, and install two layers of drapes, first sheers then wall to wall and floor to ceiling drapes. Open the drapes so that they are just covering the outer edge of the window and your window will look like it is much larger.

Hang two pendant lamps from the ceiling on either side to use for reading lamps.

Also hang a wood tray or a shelf from the ceiling in lieu of a bedside able.

I think you would have more success by changing the focus of your bed. Get rid of the headboard and think of your bed as a daybed. Center the bed on the long wall and line pillows against the wall. Use long shams in back, then your pillows for sleeping with pretty pillowcases in a color that co-ordinates with your comforter. Finally add 1 or 2 decorative pillows in front. Since your room is so small, choose a beautiful (but not too busy) comforter and dust ruffle. By pushing the bed against the long wall, you might gain a few precious inches of floor space along the front of your bed. Use ceiling mounted pendant lights on each end of your daybed or one pendant replacing the overhead light. Use a remote to control your pendant(s). Make your small window more important by hanging drapes all the way to the ceiling and wall to wall on either side of your window. Hang blinds for privacy from ceiling height which will make the window look much bigger. If space allows, run a shelf under the window to hold your needed items beside the bed or put a small chest in the corner to serve as a nightstand. Because your bed will be set up to look like a daybed, the chest or shelf on the short side of the bed will make sense in the room. Use the long wall behind the bed as your focal wall. I would stencil or wallpaper this wall and paint the other walls and ceiling a light co-ordinating color.

Paint the wall, install drapes wider than the window, purchase battery operated scones on each side of window. attach floating shelves for night tables. and if you don't like the headboard cut off the tall end pieces.

Across from my bed I have this large area, I’m looking for a small setter or couple chairs..it’s coming along. Thanks for everyone’s comments

Just looking at the dimensions of the room and bed, opt for a narrower bed, if possible. I like the idea of something added to the headboard wall, drapes or curtains.
