I use Miracle Grow that's made specifically for roses, and I sprinkle it around my plants every spring. After the bushes bloom and the flowers have seen better days, I trim them back. To do this, I find the first cluster of 5 leaves and cut just above it. Do this throughout the season so that the bushes bloom over and over again!
