Sand and stain the wine wrack, then cut the semi circles to hold the bottles on front and back boards. OR an alternative is to cut it down to hold one bottle per shelf. Here is the project in hometalk: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/build/furniture/diy-15-wine-rack-1161493
DIY $15 Wine Rack
I found an old fashioned accordian style hat rack designed for the wall at a yard sale for $2. I opened it up and sat it on a long side. It's perfect for about a dozen regular size wine bottles and two large bottles on the top.
It even tilts the wine bottles just enough to not let the cork get dried out.
