You can do a buildup along the 4 walls then paint to match.

To fake out a tray ceiling, draw a square or rectangle your ceiling the size you want. Add a large chair rail molding, paint color of trim. Either paint or wallpaper inside the molding. I prefer wallpaper, looks awesome .
