Stones I can use # 1
Where should I put my pavers and stepping stones?
Hello!
I have a small patio that I want to fix up. As you can see from the pictures I have gravel, small square bricks, 12 x 12's, pavers and breeze bricks.
Where should I place them?!
* My area is about 12' x 15'
* Don't mind the mess - just showing you my area

These pavers look pretty if you leave about a 5cm gap on all sides and fill in the gaps with white pebble.
From the photo of the right side, where that funky table holding the broom towards the strawberry pot, Put your pavers there for your plants in pots. You can frame a bare area if you plant some in the ground. The decorative bricks you can stand upright to see the decoration, put a solar light behind it for interest at night. Stick with the largest pavers you can get for the center area, maybe leaving space in between where you could try seeding grass. But looks like you need more. That’s ok get a few at a time, especially on sale. The rounds I’d use to lift plants or garden “art” . Check out world market for outdoor rugs,for the summer. Maybe some are on sale on their website now? If you can get rid of that funky table and bin, put your grillin that area, just make sure it’s placed sturdily.
That is quite some mixture there. I take it that this is it and no more can be bought.
So I think that you need to use only the square ones on the patio, but space them about so there is 10 cm between, then add shingle Inbetween these. Stagger the slabs so they are mixed large then small and brick grid so there are no lines running across any two. Draw out a pattern on paper. Measure what area you have first. Then measure each size slab then you can decide what goes where. Remember to include your shingle spacing each side of the slabs.
If you want to use the others, then you should include the round ones in the shingle area as stepping stones.
The large cut out squares could go in each corner, but must be level with the others, so you will have to dig down further,and use a spirit level or plank of wood to get this right. Then fill these with succulents or other none invasive plants. The three long wavey edging you have, can you edge the tree coming out like one half of a six sided shape ( can't think what they are called). Then fill with soil and some plants. Hope it works alright.
You have lots of things to choose from. My suggestion is to clear the area of everything other than the stones to begin with. Looking at the area bare will help you come up with a plan. I would use the larger square stones toward the center of the area and space them well apart from each other. Play with the design until you get something you like. Then use the round ones for a path way to the center and then use the other ones to set up various areas according to use. I would build an area to sit your little grill on. The four ones that have a pattern on them I would use as decor. Once you have the areas defined (seating, grilling, plants, etc) then use the others as fill in. Play around with it. You have so many great stones to use. Be creative. The nice thing is you can change it if you do not like it. Good luck. I think you will like what you come up with.
I would take the round ones and the square patterned ones and use them all around the edge next to the fence for your plant pots and/or stands. Get a couple more if you need to. Then work your way inwards with the solid square ones, spacing them alternately and a bit apart evenly with small paver stones to fill in the gaps. The one white wire planter I would get a hook and hang it from one of the posts. Those 3 edgers, I would put them up against the house. This will really clean up your backyard.
