You can rid your ants very easily, safely, and inexpensively. An old timer told us about this and we did not have much faith but we were desperate and tried it. It is the ONLY thing that truly works well. https://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/pest-repeller/ants-safe-and-effective-cure-36651130
Ants: Safe and Effective Cure
Hello,
I like the ease of a commercial ant trap— both indoors and outdoors. The Terro brand that I have used with great sucess with -is recommended quite highly. You can check out the reviews and Q&A here— to see if it would meet your needs. I set them up and —problem is once again —solved.
Once you get these traps in place the ant problem is distant memory. They are very effortless, effective and cost-effective. They do not smell badly like an ant aerosol spray does.
I recommend Terro outdoor versions— outside around the foundation perimeter as the ants can be seen under rocks and in my seasonal flowering planters, the do like shade and moisture.

Mix up some borax with a little sugar and warm water and place near the nests or where they are trailing.
Diatomacious earth is a safe ant killer. You leave the powder out. It is still effective even if it gets wet.
