What’s the best way to organize my living space?
I currently am living in an extended stay hotel. Which includes a bed/sitting area, a tiny kitchenette with a two burner stove, no oven, a bathroom, and a closet. I also have a three drawer short dresser/tv stand. However I’m trying to contain clothes, food, a dog, and everything else life entails in a space I can make no permanent changes too. I can rearrange. Bring in my own items and make my own things as long as they don’t affect the walls or flooring of the room. It’s only me, my husband, and our dog but we’re drowning in clothes clean and dirty as well as leashes, dishes and 1,000 miscellaneous items!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Sabra - the best thing that you can do is purge any unneeded items. You will feel so much better with less stuff around you. Next, what about some plastic drawer style bins? They stack nicely and would allow you to keep like items together.
Do you have room for a portable clothing rack? Maybe you could hang some more of the clothes? Underneath that you could put laundry baskets for dirty clothes. Is it in your budget for a small storage unit? Maybe you could store some rarely needed things elsewhere to free up space.
I agree. Stuff everywhere is overwhelming and makes me feel disorganized. Having a place for everything in a small space really helps. A few ideas for you:
Hope this is helpful. Best wishes and happy holidays to you and your pooch! :)
If you can afford it , get a small storage unit !!! Then go through your things carefully and only keep things that you will wear or use !!! We all keep too much stuff !!!!!!!
I did a research project several years ago about a woman and it listed all her items that she owned , it was less than 100 things !!!!! That was from the mix 1800's !!!
most people have a 100 items in just underwear, socks, bras & pj's....
what I am trying to say is minimaize...It is easier to find and take care of stuff, you won't feel cluttered. Get tubs, they stack and can hold a lot..MARK them and keep them organized, all out of season stuff together, all dog stuff ...Good luck !!!
You could get some baskets with lids that could store extra things and also be covered up so that they are not shown.
