Gwendolyn, how disappointing when that happens to a house plant. I had the same problem and asked my Grandma what was wrong. She knew how to make them grow! Anyway she told me I was watering wrong. She said you know when you water if you stick your finger in the soil to the first knuckle, if it feels dry, water it well, really soak it. If you stick your finger in to the knuckle and it was damp to the finger tip, to wait another day or so. She always was sticking her finger in the soil of her plants when she made the rounds with them, then I knew why. I no longer have trouble with them turning brown. Hope this helps!
repost you got cut off
how much water are they getting? too much and too little will make them brown.
