i personally have tried out each of the above and liked them all.
i will say that the Valspar paint is a little more reasonably priced and you can get it in any color Valspar has in their regular paint line. They just mix in your selected color in the base at the store.
i would pick a small project first such as a stool or
small bookcase or end table or night stand.
Get the smallest container possible of your chosen paint and practice on the smaller piece of furniture. Then once you see how easy it is to use you will have confidence painting your bigger piece with your chosen paint color.
If you have a local distributor of any chalk paint they will be a wealth of free information and help
when you first start out.
