How do I take care of a Christmas cactus?
How do I take care of a Christmas cactus, so that it flowers every year?? I have had a number of them , and always seem to loose them. What kind of fertilizer should I use? I have been using grow well and "Bloom".during the fall into the winter, Still now flowers.

Mine blooms almost every year, and I don't do much to it. I water it a little more when it's going into blooming season, but mostly I leave it alone. I know I ought to fertilize, but I don't. Sometimes I find that less is more with houseplants.
This is a succulent, not a cactus. Water small amount (shot glass small) every week with "Cactus Juice" from Grow More. You are correct to water more when buds appear. The less you do the better. Good Luck! Connie, U of Arizona Master Gardener
I water my cactus every week. When the temperature outside climbs above 60 degrees, I move it to my front porch or carport. That's usually in March or April. Leave there, continue weekly watering and bring back in in mid October. Or when your weather temps drop to low 40's. Continue weekly watering. I do occasionally add a little fertilizer to my water.
Mine has bloomed every December. I rarely water and I think they like to be root bound
