How do I keep muddy paw prints off of my carpet?
I have two large dogs that run the fence line and get very muddy paws. There’s mulch in the space but it doesn’t help keep their paws from getting muddy. What do you suggest to help keep the mud and dirt outside and not on my carpet?

Lay good quality landscape fabric down first, then 2" - 3" of mulch, rocks or tumbled gravel on top. I feel your pain, I have 6 dogs in my backyard right now. Rain is an "event" here so I don't have to deal with it that often.
Before you let them in wash their paws off . Keep a plastic tub low sided by door and dip their feet in the water then dry with a towel before they can come in. xtra work but it'll save expensive carpet.
Hello,
Me too! Its nearly impossible after rainy days.
Lately Ive resorted to a spray bottle of water and a microfiber towel. Outside under the deck or in the garage 3-4 sprays of water per paw followed by a wipe seems to be removing a lot of dirt and mud before entering the actual home interior. Some days I even submerse the paw in a wide mouth mason jar of water then dry with the towel.....all depends on the presenting environmental conditions.

Can you wash their paws in a bowl of warm water & dry them, somewhere like the back kitchen door?

Hi Julie,
Form a pathway there of slabs or Rubber chips
Hi Julie, add some landscape fabric to that area, and put some washed rock there, it will solve the mud problem
