How can I construct a larger drying rack?
Hi I have a very busy household which means cooking or making something for everyone to eat for dinner and the constant in and out of everyone grabbing a glass of juice here a plate for a sandwich there. By the time I get to the dishes I have to stack pots pans and serving utinsils in one load on my drying rack then dry and put them away before doing the rest. Is there a DIY project to construct a larger drying rack so I can do them all at once and get to bed earlier like everyone else instead of staying up to do all this?

FIRST OFF IF THEY CAN GET A PLATE/GLASS AND MAKE THEMSELVES FOOD/DRINK THEY CAN SURELY WASH AND DRY AND PUT AWAY to lessen your work... ITS TIME FOR THEM TO START LEARNING HOW MUCH IS INVOLVED IN DAILY LIVING AND YOU NEED TO STOP!!!!!!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves leaving all this for you!!!!
My answer to that problem at my house is paper plates and cups...especially when they come home from school and they never use the same cup/glass twice.

Easiest would be to just get a second dish rack. First, if all these people can eat, then they can also do the dishes. You call they shots. Assign dish duty to each occupant in the household. They take a glass to drink, they can wash it and put it on the rack or dry it and put it away. In any household, everyone is responsible for some chores in order for it to run smoothly. It should not fall all onto one person and is not just "women's work." If you took the time to fix them a delicious and nutritious meal, then you can put your feet up and do something you enjoy while they do the work. There are scads of options out there, you just need to Google. Here are a few to get you started.

I have a double decker dish drain as pictured above. It's okay but doesn't hold a lot of items for some reason.
I have a couple of dish drying mats that I place on the counter top for larger items like pots & pans. If you want to DIY something, I would start with drying mats and then add a second tier.
put some of the bigger stuff in oven on racks,I use additional dish rack with towel under on my stove but I have glass cooktop,I'm with other ladies about having others pitch in & do their dishes especially if it is outside of regular meal time. Everyone should pitch in;Someone clear dishes, someone wash, someone dry, someone put away then rotate so everyone does everything eventually it's good to teach kids what it takes to live daily. And no age is too young! unless they cannot hold onto dishes they can help with non-breakable stuff. Little kids love to do dishes. https://www.staples.com/Sandusky-Muscle-Rack-18-W-Wire-Dish-Rack-Chrome-Silver-WDR181217/product_24147850?cid=PS:GooglePLAs:24147850&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=24147850&KPID=24147850&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI65HSqNbh3wIVguNkCh0rCgsjEAQYAiABEgK1rvD_BwE&akamai-feo=off
