Hi Sharon, we also have a green tiled bathroom, so I feel you here. We know several people who have chosen to paint their bathroom tiles white. There are paints for this at most home improvement stores. I have also seen the tile covered in thin wood sheets and then trimmed with wood (all painted white), and this looked good as well. Good luck!
You can paint the tile and stencil it if you like that look.
thank you
Keep the green, use salmon or similar color for accent, and decorate in southwestern motif.
Use a complementary shade of blue or yellow with the existing green.
Do a retro 1950's look with pink and green.
Do your bath in green and bright white with shots of more intense color such as fuscia, bright yellow, purple or blue shades.
My previous home had a bathroom with pepto bismol pink tile in it! When we had a small leak, I took that opportunity to swap out the pink around the tub/shower for gray, leaving the rest of the pink. I took out the top row of pink tiles around the room, adding a row of gray and a finish gray edge tile above. Painted the old vanity gray and updated all the hardware. When finished, the bathroom looked as though I planned it that way lol!
So, if you're trying to keep costs down look at the entire bathroom to see where you could change some of the green tiles out for an updated color that melds with the old tiles. Replace those sections, use paint to tie everything together along with textiles, etc. Good luck! 😎
