Try using car body repair filler. Rub down and build up paint or Use ornamental brackets to cover up, or any other stick on that will do the trick!
You can add bondo filler.
There are metal fillers you can buy that work just like the way spackle does on drywall. Let it dry and sand lightly before painting.
