If you have wood floors, go ahead and call an exterminator. We had a problem a few years ago and spent more money trying to DIY the problem than we ended spending calling a company. They explained that the life cycle of a flea is short and they have to be sterilized in order to stop them from populating. They get into the cracks in the flooring that are microscopic and lay eggs. It was AWFUL!
But here's an article for getting rid of them otherwise:
If infested, they won't work. Very hard to kill and keep killing for the eggs. I had the house bombed then use the once a month pill that kills the fleas sold by vet.
I would like to know how to get rid those pesty little sink/drain flies. I've tried baking soda and vinegar, drain cleaners and put plastic over the drains.
