Vinegar, lemon, salt and sun.
To me, bleach and food don't mix. If you want further sanitation use cheap vodka or hydrogen peroxide. I have quite a collection, each for a different purpose. Typically I like to lay out in the sun and place a tea towel on the board and saturate with vinegar. The plastic boards can easily be washed. Do replace them when they get gouged severely. My personal preference is wood cutting boards, better for the knives.
I put mine in dish washer.
It depends on the type of board. If it is wooden, I would purchase the cleaner/conditioner that is specifically made for them. Other types dishwasher or hydrogen peroxide then rinse with hot water.
Better wooden ones can be scrubbed after use with soap and hot water, but as naomie advised, purchase one for meat, one for fowl, a third for cheeses, etc.
