OMG! I went to grade school in the country in the late 50 s and that's what they used on these hundred year old floor boards. One summer they reapplied oil (?smelled like kerosene). Now, thinking back, it was a fire hazard and all of us kids were in classrooms. However, those boards didn't dry out, need refinishing, or rot. Good luck with your project!
