You can use pvc pipe. Drill holes and it waters out the holes.
My step.mother live in Vegas and grows everything in pots. Uses a very simple irrigation system she got at Home Depot. I know she didn't pay much for it. Connects at the hose faucet.

sprinkler hoses &/or soaker hoses on timers is cheapest
Soaker hoses would be your best bet.
