I know that opinions vary, but what's your opinion?!I have great luck w Rosemary plants. Green all year long.
It's not a great idea to plant zucchini in a bucket. They need a LOT of growing space. If you're looking for a good container gardening idea for them, try a kiddie pool. Zucchini need a lot of width, but not a lot of depth, so these little pools are great options - for any squashes really. Make sure to provide drainage holes though. :)
Hi Lon. I'm Cindy. Zucchini's need a lot more room than a bucket can provide. They grow into very large plants. Do you have anything else you could grow them in? Tomatoes might grow in a bucket for you but, to be honest, I have never had any luck with growing anything in buckets. Whatever you grow them in needs good drainage. If possible, drill holes in the bottom of what you use. Good luck Lon.
I agree. Two zucchini plants will spread out for several feet.
You can grow in a bucket. You need to purchase bush type zucchini. Burpee's seeds sells them. They are on line.
I keep getting squash bugs so I thought I would grow in a container on patio ?..
I have grown zucchini in 5 gal buckets. Use good potting soil, holes in bucket and do allow room for them to spread. I put one plant per bucket and had great results. good luck!!!
