How do I create a small flower garden in Texas?
I have a small flower garden in my back yard. It started with contractor roses and hibiscus. Then some other things were added by a person who was supposed to make things easy. The whole garden is one over grown mess. I don't know where to start and what to put in if I started over.

gardens are a constant chore/joy they need worked in pretty much weekly if not daily-weeding. Where do you live? need climate info. need to start by pulling up whatever you do not want there mostly the weeds does the garden receive full sun,pat sun, shade? dry or moist part of Texas? Texas is huge has swamps to arid deserts I'd suggest plants but need local.
Judy: Clean out the overgrown mess. Mix in some GOOD gardening soil. You can actually just make an inexpensive (easy!) cutting garden with zinnia and dahlia seeds! Plant them a couple of weeks apart for more continuous color.
If you cannot afford real bricks as Jessica Mentioned, get yourself some cedar blocks and mortar, you would be suprised what you can do with those resources.
