Discontinued Simply Renee Clip-It-Up stand.
How can I make a sturdy, 3-4 level Simply Renee Clip it Up stand?
I am looking to build an industrial style stand much like the discontinued Simply Renee Clip-It-Up stand shown in the photo. The requirements are a) that it can support about 25 lbs or so total, b) that each "tier" spins freely, c) that it can also be easily broken down into shorter sections for travel and possible table top display and d) that it can use clips shown in the photos. I would LOVE for this to look industrial, so I was thinking industrial piping perhaps, with an added extra...lighting!! I'd love to be able to have an industrial style light fixture at the top. Or perhaps a super cool lantern up there (that lights of course :) ). This would definitely need some sort of base, and wood would be great, but I don't have woodworking tools. So if it a) wouldn't support the weight of the stand and the silk screen transfers I'd be hanging on it, or b) requires special tools that I don't have, then wood can fly out the window! I hope you'll take this one on!!
These are the types of clips I'm looking at using. They can vary slightly, but the main purpose is to hold firmly to the ring they are hanging from so they don't fall off when a customer spins the display to browse, or when carrying the stand to and from an event. I'm basically hoping the clips will fit firmly enough that they become more of a permanent fixture.

You can probably still find those clips in the Darice section at Michaels or JoAnn. That's where I got mine.
IKEA sells the clips in their drapery section.
I've also seen the clips at Walmart and on Amazon.
