Thought I read/saw in your column "that Borax rids spiders & insects around your house". I did read it but now I can't find where it was. Please reply.
Pour it in a shallow bowl, add a small amount of water and a few drops of dawn dish detergent. They should stop and get stuck. I have used it in my kitchen, it does work.
Hi Ray, we put white vinegar in a small bowl and then add a squirt of dish soap. The vinegar attracts the fruit flies and the soap traps them when they touch the liquid. Hope this helps!
If the vinegar and soap doesn’t work well enough add a little sugar in the mix to attract them more.
I get impatient using vinegar so I use Simple Green. Be sure all fruit is put away out of access of any bugs. Then spray 4 or 5 spritz of Simple Green in ALL the drains (if you spray only in kitchen, they will move to bathroom sink or shower drains etc.) So spray them all every day for ten days. Then once a week spray them to keep the fruit flies and gnats gone.
