Smoothing textured walls
I just bought a house with textured, plaster walls throughout the entire living room. What are the least expensive ways (relatively speaking) to get a smooth finish?
Hi Shelley! I have also spackled over a rough wall.
Hi Shelley,
Sanding would be easier than covering it with new wall board. It is possible to skim coat it with compound so I found a video that should help you. Wishing you the best.

Skim coat over it
You need to have it skim coated.
We skim coated ours.
I skim coated mine too. But I bought premade mud, so there was no doubt about the thickness of the mud. Lowes and Home Depot sells it.
