We had nearly an acre we bought on the edge of the field. The field was full of fire ants and so was our yard. We tried everything: poison, bait, everything and nothing worked. Then an old timer told us about an inexpensive, safe for pets and children and the environment solution and best of all it WORKS. We never had fire ants in our yard again. If a new hill was found in the spring we reapplied the solution and that was the end of it: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/outdoor/pest-repeller/ants-safe-and-effective-cure-36651130
