How do I choose a backsplash?
YouWe have remodeled our kitchen. We have dark cabinets and a cream with red/burgandy swirl granite. Confused on the backsplash. Was thinking a multi color redish brick for the vent hood wall to the ceiling and then a tan multi color stone for under the wall cabinets throughout. Very confused if this will work? I am not a designer, can you help? Ideas?

Hi Harriett, I don't know if I would use a multi-colored brick because adding that to the swirl might make it look to busy. I think I would do a solid red.
Hello, some pics of your kitchen would help us a lot! I agree with Rebecca that with a swirl pattern already in your counter top as well as dark cabinets a back splash with a lot going on may make it feel busy and dark.
Also, If you're considering REAL stone and brick I would give a note of caution, marinara sauce will never come off of a rough brick or stone surface lol
Because your cabinets are dark my instinct would be to suggest pulling the cream color out of your counter top and finding a back splash tile in that color.
Harriett!

I really like your idea but...... our hood is stainless and glass, which leave space from stove to ceiling. It's not boxed out the the pics?
