Another vote for peroxide.
Hydrogen peroxide-- apply a small amount of hydrogen peroxide directly to the stain and watch as the red blood stain disappears. In the case of old or stubborn stains, reapply as needed. After the stain is removed, rinse the area with cold water to remove any peroxide that may be left behind.
I agree with the peroxide, it should work the best and the cheapest.

I think I would wet it again and try to draw it out by flooding the area with Talc or fuller earth powder or Shake and Vac. Good luck!
