How do I keep the “catch all” drawer organized?
I have used many ideas on organization of closets, garages, pantry, etc. but there’s seems to be one nemesis that I cannot conquer yet, and that is the “catch all drawer” where everything missing a part or waiting to be fixed, ends up, like the lost and found. There’s seem to be one in every room (kitchen, office, garage, laundry). Should they exist; how can I keep them organized?

Get rid of them. Instead having junk drawer collectors all over the place, have a box or section in your garage or work space. Then fix or repair items on a regular basis so they don't pile up.
Dividers and small baskets. I picked up several shapes from the dollar store and use them or group items together. Batteries, post-it notes, spare keys, are examples of items I grouped in my drawers.
Oh Maria, I hear you! I have one of those and everything that we don't know where to put goes into that drawer. LOL Mainly I try to keep similar items together. You could use dividers to separate the items - maybe by size. That's the best idea that has worked for me. Good luck and wishing you the best.
Great tips on organizing the “catch all drawers”; like using small baskets/boxes, separating them by size and keeping only one container in the garage. It will free up precious space and will guide me to only one location to find lost Items, fix things in a timely manner and practice letting go. Thanks for all of your input.

I go through mine when I do a deep clean of my kitchen (or when I have trouble closing the drawer).
I pick up silverware trays whenever I see them cheap (garage sale, thrift store, dollar store) and use them in ALL my drawers in the bathroom and kitchen. Bathroom: makeup, jewelry. Kitchen: batteries, chargers and cords, one tray has hand tools, pens/pencils. Each drawer having a specific content means no more junk drawers! Some of the 'shorter' trays can be put in sideways, with 2-3 fitting in the same drawer.
