In my experience deer who are really wanting to get at appealing food will not be kept away by any sprays or repellents.
At best these supposed 'deer deterrents' are only temporary, as their odor will quickly be dissipated in the wind or moisture in the air.
Deer have an extraordinary ability to know where food is and to get at it.
