Lorraine: I keep a spray bottle of vinegar around in my garage --- for those pesky things!
We use this recipe on our driveway and sidewalk where we do not want anything to grow. It will kill any plant so not the best to use say on a lawn you are trying to improve and remove weeds. Recipe: 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 cups Epsom salts, 1/3 cup Dawn dish soap (blue kind). Mix well and spray on weeds early in a.m. after dew is gone. Works best on sunny day. Weeds will be dead by evening.
1 gal. vinegar 1 gal. lemon juice 2 cups salt mix well spray in direct hot sun on whatever you want dead kills everything
Hi Lorraine - This is the most effective all-natural weed killer DIY that we use. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

get a nice padded seat, sit on the ground, take your shoes off, get a forked hand held weed tool and dig them out by the roots. You get to feel the earth, you get to get dirty and you get to get some sun, natures best medicine. also pull them on a slow growth day, which you can look up on line under gardening with the moon.
