It doesn't matter it's drainage and watering thats,most important.
Hydrangeas are a bush or tree, as far as I know. If you are not ready to plant them in the ground, then I would recommend a barrel or half barrel. The roots could still be maturing for a season, but the hydrangeas would need to be planted as soon as the roots fill the container. Maybe there is a potted plant variety, but I haven’t noticed one.
