You see all these pics of very cottage farm house vintagy looking but I had these ideas in my head but they are not panning out! Still working on my room but I’m at a stand still! Have a window I took out and is now covered by wall was thinking of making a book shelf and maybe adding metal on yellow walls ! Painted other wall like a chalk White and added 4x4 beams across top which we messed up on spacing! Don’t want to girly but still very farm house cottage like dream rooming!

I love the beams for a farmhouse touch! You'll get there with the whole room coming together!

Find pictures of what you like and I can advise you how to copy it.

I Look at the room like a vase full of 5 kinds of flowers. Repeat colors and textures in a composition- balance it.

What are your upholstery colors? What is the flooring color? That’s your pallete of colors.

Since you’ve introduced very dark wood in the room and took away the natural daylight and natural ventilation, I would recommend working on the lighting and ventilation (ceiling fan). There should be ambient and task lighting, both.

Just so you know, by Code, occupiable rooms must have natural daylight and ventilation. How much, depends on the local Jurisdiction’s interpretation of the Building Code.

The white chalk paint looks like an apartment complex paint color in the photos, sorry. I would have it tinted another color, to tie into your upholstery colors.

Great thank you Cheryl! I have a bid natural wood color bed that’s in storage everything is temporary that in their while we work around! There is a natural light from opposite side where window is located. You think it be easy with a blank slate.... the floors will be concrete until I figure out what to do with them. Tried to post more pics but it wouldn’t let me ! I will find some pics I like and I would very much appreciate a walk through on how to accomplish ! Thank you

Paint all the wall something in the farmhouse vibe such as Behr's brown teepee or SW's Dorian Gray.

Add farmhouse decor such as galvanized items. Those are not girly. Check Tractor Supply for affordable rustic decor. I like decorsteals.com for unusual items. I hit the jackpot last year, end of summer, at HobbyLobby.

An entire wall of metal might be a bit dominating. It depends on the size of the entire room and what other “flowers are in your vase”.
