How To Install A Peel And Stick Subway Tile Backsplash
Wall tile is going up!!!
Cement board put up with screws. Use pre-mixed mastik, it will stick better. If you haven't done it before, you might consider using self-spacing tile. It's so much easier. Get a good saw for cutting, that is probably the most aggravating part.
If the tile has a possibility to "slide down" before the mastik is dry, place a screw to hold in place.
If it’s going to get wet, like a shower or tub wall, you’ll need a water proof membrane (buy it by the linear foot, off a roll)
behind the cementicious tile backer board.
I tack-staple it up. Tap the Staples with a rubber hammer, if they’re not flush.
one must use the official coated screws for this board.
Start the coursing at the bottom and use painters tape to hold it in place.
Mastic is different (thinner) than thin set. Look at the back of the tile and determine which is best.
Mastic often off gasses, because it’s petrochemical, not cementicious.
If it’s a shower or tub wall, that waterproof membrane needs to “drape” so that it’s like flashing or a curb, draining out into the tub or shower pan. This is critical.
Thank you for your info!
you will need to use the special cement mixture made for tiles, then apply the tiles with the pattern you would like then don't forget the dividers in between to make sure they have regular and same distance
