Old fireplace recycled to backyard?
Recently renovated house and replaced old fireplace with new two sided. Moved old metal/brick fireplace to back yard and want to stone it for backyard feature. Suggestions on how to finish with stone.

I would build a non flammable frame and add the stone onto cement board walls.
Frame it out with metal studs, apply cement board, then thinset stone onto the cement board
