How do you get rid of fire ants?
Just moved here and have fireants everywhere. Tried natural, tried commercial, they just seem to move to another spot. Does anyone have a tried and true way to kill off these nasty inhabitants of my yard?

Do not try to burn them out. My husband did this when we lived near New Orleans. He poured a flammable liquid down one hole and lit it. The fire flared up in several spots in the yard. It could have come up under something that caught on fire. We were lucky it burned itself out after a few minutes.
Hi Sandy,
I tend to use Boiling water to kill the nests (Underground).
I’ve had good luck with opening up the nest & pouring in the fire ant granules. Wear boots.
Use this - BASF 396153 Advance Granular Carpenter Ant Bait, 8oz
It's expensive, but it works.
It's marketed for carpenter ants, but will take care of fire ants, harvester ants and more. Read the reviews for tips and stick with it. It works!
AMDRO Ant Bait
Even though some scoff at this, I heard it works well on fire ants and is safe for children and pets.

Thanks I have heard that this works but adding boric acid to the mix
Boric acid attacks their nervous systems. All insects. That’s what Roach Proofs primary ingredient is.
Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) literally grinds through their exoskeletons, because it is “fossil flour” of dead diatoms. It is like diamond dust.
