We are putting in a 5000+ sq ft driveway in a desert setting. Should we use a light or dark color in the concrete?

Dark attracts sun and heat
Lighter would be better.
Jannea...It's just a matter of opinion...which would look better with your house?
lighter the better.
I totally had the same question when we decided to paint our patio. Dark concrete will be hot to walk on for your feet if you are barefoot. Probably not a problem if it is a driveway though and not a pool deck. Light concrete will get dirtier!! You might want an In-between color or if you don't care about how hot it could get, go on the darker side rather than lighter.
The dark color would absorb the heat and you would not want that in a hot desert setting. I would use the light color unless you live in the coldest desert on earth, Gobi, ha.
white reflects heat; black absorbs increases heat
