I’d be careful and rethink this. Laminate flooring tends to expand and contract which is why you leave a small gap around the edges when installing it. When it does expand and contract it will break up the mortar/mastic.
It is always best to put down cement board before you install tile. This will height quite a bit of height on top of the existing flooring so think about the transition room-to-room.

You can do it if the current floor is in good shape with no cracks, etc. However ans explained in other answers, it's not the best way to do that project. If you decide to do it, you should be prepared for possible problems in the future so it just might not be worth it. It shouldn't take too long to remove the current tiles. Soften the adhesive with heat and pry off. Wishing you the best.
